Excellent post. I had to laugh because yesterday I too laid some tracing paper over the Rega template and marked out the spindle hole and X mark and then took it over to the Stevenson Arc protractor to find the grid X was in exactly the same spot. Great minds think alike, as they say. :)

What is great about this hobby is that everyone can come up with different results depending on their own setup. The holographic sound you describe is exactly what I have been enjoying for the last few months having used the Rega method. I would like to try the Baerwald but I don't really want to move my cart and lose that magic! I am sure curiosity will get the better of me in the near future, however.
