I don't know. I have to agree with slate1's post to you below which says: "As I said in response to your post a few days ago - [the Stevenson Arc Protractor] will give you the exact same alignment [as the Rega] but it's MUCH easier to use and MUCH MUCH more precise."Also, on the Vinyl Engine website in his rundown of all the protractors available, Seb states: "The Rega Stevenson protractor may be used by people who would like to align their cartridge the Rega way without using the protractor provided by Rega."
As I said, they both gave the same result for me, but the process of lining up the headshell with the lines on the Rega template is totally dependent on how you hold your head and how you are seeing the world that day. The Stevenson protractor takes the guesswork out of the overhang portion of the setup.
