it's all good

as long as a person can acknowledge that there's isn't the ONLY correct opinion and that it's possible for others to have different preferences, it's all good.

i know i carry a big butt chip on my shoulder about acoustic suspension because first... little infinity minis were the FIRST speakers i heard that sounded "right" to my ears, so i'm totally biased towards preferring that sound, second, because i learned the science behind WHY i prefer small & sealed... transients, damping & air springs and why i can't stand what i call the "giant marshmallow" sound of ports... namely all of the resonances (distortion) they add to a signal along with phase & timing errors etc. ports sound big... true... but also sloppy if you're totally into percussion.

finally, pointing out the limitations of ports and their scientifically KNOWN for decades distortions drives emotionals (98% of the population that don't share my personality type) nuts, feeling threatened, and rounding up the wagons the heretic who "dares" insult their golden idol rather than admit facts.

i have NO PROBLEM admitting the FACT that the 2 ways sealed speakers are inferior to ported is their lack of extension and lower efficiency. i'm OK with that, but RARELY see the same honesty from port zealots.

it's the TRUTH i have issues with. people can like whatever sound they chose
