THIS is my "dream table" (pioneer linear tracker)




this is why i'm interested in 1200 mods. the one difference from the pic i mocked up is that i'd get a funk firm achromat. i used the one in the mockup because i thought THAT was an archomat at the time and liked the high tech look.

one mod i'd LIKE to see, specifically for the pioneer PLX-1000 which probably isn't part for part interchangeable with technics, is a nice solid platter.

if i ever find a job where i can afford to build my "giant killing cheapskate system", i might be inclined to have a nice solid platter machined. i don't know if i could properly mount the "speed controller" ring on such a platter, but i bet the pioneer's stonger than 1200 motor & beefier bearings should be up to spinning a solid platter
