i run all of my audio gear through noise suppression... not $5,000+ units, but the $15 surge protector i used with my last system suppressed at least 97% of line noise, and maybe even 99%.
reducing electrical hash can have benefits, especially with digital & class D, but again, i just don't see the point when it has to do with a MECHANICAL process.
the job of a turntable's power supply & motor is simply to spin the platter. i can see no reason that providing a motor with better can in any way affect its mechanical performance. if... there was a sort of "damping factor" (more or less what's CLAIMED) that improves motor speed stability the same way damping factors better control speakers... it would manifest as a decrease in wow & flutter... the ONLY thing such a mod is capable of, and if it actually DID improve platter rotation... the improved wow and flutter could be measured.
otherwise... the mod is all talk... i mean BS.
i don't give benefits of the doubt no matter WHO designs something. MOST manufacturers are IN IT FOR THE MONEY. greed leads to ethical dilemmas. i really respect the few manufacturers who aren't about making money and who strive to offer the best values possible.
otherwise... EVERY speaker manufacturer would offer cheap acoustic suspension minimonitors and NHT wouldn't be the ONLY company making ACCEPTABLE minis under $500 where companies like role, mission & energy ALL hobble their sub $1,000 sealed capable minis with flimsy cabinets.
