Its a 50 year old record player and a 50 year old tonearm I picked up for a total of $250 on a homemade CLD plinth. I sunk a few hundred extra dollars for I'm sure no more than $1000 total. The VPI is $4K!

In that context the Rek better not sound as good!

I can't put the VPI tonearm on the Rek because the tonearm base is part of the Prime.

I can't sink another $2600 to buy a new 3d arm so its unlikely a direct comparison is going to happen.

I'm just playing with my toys, nothing more. This wasn't meant to be a thorough scientific comparison. Just me playing around.
