RE: yeap you are right...

Hi Penguin,

Nearing the end of my college career I needed one more technical elective. I was getting tired and wanted a basket weaving class. I found Power Systems Analysis in the catalog. I'm thinking "how bad can this be" if you know the square root of 3 and Kirchoff's laws this should be a piece of cake. Big mistake! With stability analysis and some transform / inverse transform thing called symmetrical components this class was almost as bad as fields and waves. As I was approaching the first midterm I went to my neighbor who was head of the power distribution at the IBM facility and said you've got to help me with this stuff. He looked at it and said "I can't believe they are giving you this stuff in a first course. I've got some kids working for me with master's degrees who might be able to do it but I can't". I knew then that I was in deep Do-Do. I got out alive but never again did I view power engineers as folks who couldn't get electronics.
