I have an old Shure M75B type 2 in my stock Lenco L75, and I'm planning to upgrade the stylus to an EJ. I'm curious if the dirty cartridge pins are degrading the sound, because from an electrical perspective, these very small voltage levels would be more sensitive to bad contacts than speaker signals, for example. Could it possibly be that dirty contacts can cause a drop in signal level, and/or even crossover distorsion? Has anybody noticed an improvement in sound quality after cleaning these connections?
Best regards,
Peter

- More likely a loose connection or bad solder joint would cause distortion/intermittent sound. nt - Rick W 17:34:31 07/31/07 (0)
