2.0000454545 is right! But note 4 zeros not 5 as in .000001. And interestingly enough if you take .000045454545 and invert it you get 22000!

No way - they won't be alternating if there's exactly 2! If both samples occur at the orgin (sampling in phase) the results will be a single line at the orgin - if the 2 samples are taken out of phase with the waveform they will occur at exactly the same points on the wave and produce two flat lines on the scope.

Nope - you'll get 22000 sine waves occuring in one second.

Nyquist isn't directly intuitive but it really does work. What we need to remember is we are storing time domain signals in a digital format. There's absolutely no reason to conclude that looking at an analog output at an instant of time reveals anything about the content of the signal except it's amplitude - there is no frequency information until one considers the signal over time - and the same is true for the digital storage medium.
