In 20 years of listening to digital audio, I wish it was the case, but in reality, my ears "burn out" (fatigue) after extended playback of digital media in general, and high-resolution digital media in particular. (I find only a select few Redbook CD rigs listenable.) And while not everybody experiences this with digital playback, I think I've not been alone in such experiences. It is a gremlin that I think has plagued active digital playback since its inception. (I say "active" because I have not experienced such fatigue playing digitally-mastered vinyl.) And unless some "breakthrough" in regard to reduced RFI generation comes forth, I think "RFI fatigue" will continue to plague active digital playback indefinitely.

In fact, had this RFI gremlin *not* existed in digital playback, or at least been brought under control, I really think vinyl would have died and been buried next to the 8-track tape.
