Hello Phil ,
I have and know only the above turntables . I have the 927 and the TD 124 for many years , both with long Ortofon arms in two versions . I used both players with Denon DL 103 and SPU and a "Daniel" DIY preamp from Joe Curcio with tubes .
Four or five weeks ago , I bought the EMT 948 with EMT arm and TSD 15 for 1500,- Euro here in Germany and I am very happy with my new player .
It is not easy for me to describe the sound of the 948 , but I like it now more than my 927 ( OK , other system , other arm and transformer and preamp ) , the 927 sounds darker with the DL 103 and the 948 seems to have more details in music ( my friend said the opposite ) .
In the next time, I will restore the 927 with new oil and a new idler wheel and then I play the 948 with the same amp and transformer .
The 948 is very comfortable to use , one push button for rotation and one for the arm .
Regards , AlexK .
