We've had this discussion before. I had written then and I write again now that the reports of these "beatings" were from the very owners of said 'tables, people who out of a sense of fun and curiosity tried the experiment. All these 'tables were owned by knowledgeable audiophiles who had lived with and loved their own 'tables, in their own systems, in most cases if not all cases for years. Or do you assyme the owner of the Nottingham/Graham2.2 didn't know how to set up a 'table? Or the owner of the VPI TNT? Pay attention, use your head. This isn't enthusiasm, this is a well-controlled experiment, to the extent this is possible without unthinkable expense. You don't want to believe it, fine, the information is posted for all to see permanently on the Audiogon thread, and has now been accepted by most, if not all, Audiogoners, whose systems are mostly in the "High End." Try it (empirical science) or shut up. Oh yeah, I remember, you're the one who didn't know what mpirical science was. God you're tedious, and dense, yawn. If you find this discussion of idler-wheel drives and the Lencos tedious (got a lot of money and ego tied up in yor belt-drive do you?) then do what I do when I see a subject that doesn't interest me: don't click on it, or didn't this occur to you?
