I used a Beogram TX-2 linear tracker for years. My TX-2 was beautifully designed and an excellent performer. Absolutely impervious to vibration and footfall. Hands down the best-tracking turntable I ever owned, able to play all but the most badly warped records.
Prior to buying a KAB modified Technics SL1200MK5, I was using a Soundsmith SMMC-2 on the Beogram. Excellent cartridge and it never struck me as overly bright. I no longer have the Beogram but I bought an adaptor from Soundsmith to use the SMMC-2 on standard 1/2" headshells and it sounds terrific on my Technics as well.
