Hi Jim, As regards the George Wright preamp. If you can in fact get hold of a working unit, could you not then determine the voltage and current requirements for replacing the power transformer? It would not be necessary to disconnect the PT from the circuit to do that. In fact, it would be best not to do that, because it is only possible to deduce current draw in the context of the intact circuit. Just trying to help.
