That is perhaps why I like them so much. They have, especially the FR-7f (and probably the fz and fc), a certain lush quality which is neither overly euphonic nor soft/floppy. It is not "sweet" (or cloying) but I find that matching it with my Pioneer H-Z1 headamp (which is transparency itself I find) and a good phono stage (currently using the one inside the Pioneer C-Z1 - also super quiet), I get treble extension in spades.
