RE: A final word on the Typhoon issue!

Tao/All,

To rehash, Yes, in this day, and age, with the internet, one can easily ask questions, find information, addresses, phone numbers to seek information, and knowledge. Even if one doesn't have a computer, one can use one in places such as a Library.

I know stuff like this really irks a manufacturer and/or dealer, but I as well believe Harry needs to keep his shirt on as well, count to 10, take ten deep breaths, before besetting on any retaliation quests to try leveling the playing field. I can understand that responding without one's blood pressure level rising 25 points can be hard. It serves no benefit to him, the original poster, nor the audio community.

That in such cat fights, everyone gets dirty.

I know in the olden days of Usenet, the company's minions-advocates would come forth in defense of a manufacturer, and this was commonly known as a "mafia". And I've seen it here in this thread about the customer's Typhoon. I clearly seen this, where all the little "brown noses" come out to play. Personal attacks, name calling (morons, and this that and the other) are not at all productive.

Too much innuendo, mis-quoting, fuzzy memories of facts, anger, despair, possible missed emails, bad timing to make any accurate assumptions, or a judgement.

The original poster may be largely correct, he may have some axe to grind, or it could be somewhere in between. I don;t know, and in truth, it is actually none of my personal business, or any others here to make a judgement call. That should be between the customer, and the manufacturer.

Do I believe Harry, when he said he's never had a Typhoon RCM back for service.... yes, I do. Do I believe the original poster, who claims he ran into difficulties with his equipment, and felt helpless.... yes I do.

I'd like pointing out something, particularly to Harry W though, as in the beginning of this thread, Harry makes it sound like these Rotary Vacuum Motors are indestructable, when they actually are not.

That one would be under a false assumption, thinking one can chuck these 5.7" Ametek-Lamb Peripheral Discharge Vacuum Motors into a bucket of water, and that they're going to work happily forever after, like a Water Pump-Sump Pump one would use to pump out their flooded Basements.

I've spoken with others, who claim they never clamp thier Drain Hose Clamp, and never had a problem. The thing is with this, there's gonna be no predictability as to when these Motors will fail.

They might last 5 years, they might last 15. Then again, they may fail instantly, on the first use, if something else in the vac system isn't correct, or a user sets out to run a torture test of the machine, seeing how much abuse it can take before something breaks.

I've heard of damage to machines like the 16.5 in no time flat, and one has to understand, these are not aquariums, to watch your fish swim around in. Use common sense, mop up spills as they happen, use common sense care, and the machine will probably last many years without a hiccup.

I own the 16.5, and my only regrets were not buying it years sooner.

Please all, let's let these threads die, and move on. Mark
