Using the Rega with an Accuphase AC1 cartridge. After getting everything set up, discovered that the cue mechanism does not come down far enough, but rubs against the tonearm.
The set screw is on the horizontal arm, so I broke out the allen wrenches and got it positioned as far down as possible. Discovered that it still hit the bottom of the tonearm when it reached the end of the record.
Turned the cue arm as far as I could, so that the arm cleared the high spot found at the end of the cue arm. This worked until I played a piece of thin vinyl, and once again did not have enough clearance.
The pod holding the cue device is a molded one piece job. Previous arms I have owned put a set screw here in order to adjust the height of the cue assembly.
Wondering what a solution is. I would prefer not to space the cartridge down. Wonder if another cue lift arm can be obtained, and the top rib could be shaved off. I really don't need a lot of clearance.
Anyone have this experience before? If so what was your solution?
