I would be more inclined to go with something like an older and inefficient PS Audio power regenerator like the P300.
If you run a UPS it's doing basically the same thing but taking the DC voltage and converting it to AC. And the equipment that a UPS typically powers is often less critical of AC distortion that your TT motor.
If you DO try a UPS you MUST make sure it is the type that produces a pure sine wave and not a "modified" (stair stepped) approximation. They cost more. If I had to guess I would go with 500VA or larger but that's a WAG not knowing the power draw from your motor OR for how long you expect to run it off the UPS.
But even a pure sine wave UPS will likely have more AC distortion on it vs the P300 I mentioned above.
