ET II Wiring

You might want to deal with wire dressing in an entirely different fashion.

I don't have a Teres, but I do have an ET II mounted on a TNT Jr. I'm now running a set of Cardas wires directly from the cartridge to my phono stage, terminated in bullet plugs. The wires run down the arm tube, and are held in place with a teflon tape wrap. as they exit the end of the arm tube I run them through a little suspension that holds them off the plinth, this little "sag" is about 3-4" long. The suspension is just a piece of florist wire that sticks straight up and has a loop in the top. This is the key to keeping the wire from interfering with the tonearm travel.
With this arrangement the cartridge signal now only goes through solder joints at the cartridge clips and at the RCA plugs, and does not have to travel though the junction at the end of the spindle, or a junction box, or another set of cables. I'll go so far as to say it has made as much difference as any cable change I've ever made, but will also qualify that by adding that I'm in a relatively RF free basement location, and some other folks I know that do this have had to shield as much of the wire as is practical.
