I used to own that very combination and I loved it. IMO the original MC-2000 is an excellent cartridge. However, the one I owned was a very massive cartridge weighing 12-grams and a fairly compliant cartridge of 20cu. This combination of high mass and high compliance means you need a very low mass tonearm if you want to keep the resonance frequency above 8-Hz. The MC-2000 was the reason I bought a SME Series III tonearm. Even with that very low mass arm, the resonance was just barely at or slightly above 8-Hz.Best regards,
