Re: Upgrade Oracle or Teres???

Both my confrere and I use upgrade ET-2s on Redpoints. High pressure manifold and pump, acummulator tank, damping trough, etc. The ET really does want an unsuspended 'table for best results. We have also got best results from an arrangement that does not have the arm attached to the base, but uses a common reference plane; decoupled, if you will.

Our experience has indicated that isolating the arm from the base, platter and motor gives better controlability on stuff like stray resonances and facilitates isolating and eliminating the nasties.

The ET, while it looks at first blush like a very complex piece, is very versatile and adjustable, and offers several avenues to improve its performance, even after being "upgraded."

IMNSHO, an unsuspended 'table with a linear tracker would seem to be the preferred way to go.
