Hi
I have had a Dynavector 17d2 on a Well Tempered Record Player. It works very well with this turntable. Actually given the design of the silicone bath for the arm, it can be adapted to a great many cartridges. I found the Dynavector to be very fast sounding, with excellent detail and dynamics. The midrange is very natural sounding, and vocals have a very natural feel to them. The bass extension was good, although a bit to the lean side. Alot of this had to do with the early production Well Tempered arm. I have since replaced the WTRP with a Terres Audio table, and Eminnent Technology II arm, and the bass in this system far exceeds what was in my Well Tempered Record Player.I cannot comment on the output level matching with your pre amp. It is true that the output level is low, but I successfully used it with an EAR 834P, and an Audible Illusions 3A with gold phono board.
If you can use the Dynavector you will be in for a real treat. This cartridge is one of the top performers in the sub 1k price range. It's my opinion that there is not another cartridge that can outperform the Dynavector in all catagories.
