The greatest advance in belt-drive turntable speed regulation is available from SOTA with Phoenix Engineering's tachometer controlled 3-phase synchronous motor system. It provides excellent performance and can be used on different brands of turntables. It's like having a quartz locked direct-drive platter, except you don't need a strobe. Instead, you have a digital readout in RPM. I replaced the original stepper motor on my SOTA Millennia Vacuum turntable with Phoenix Engineering's Condor 3-phase, tachometer controlled, synchronous motor system along with a two-belt drive system and it made a very noticeable improvement in sound quality.
