I can totally see changers using springs, to give a tad when the record drops when in changer mode, jiggle just a tad while the arm moved and settle immediately after the arms settles in the lead in groove, and I would think that's how the suspended tables should be on ALL tables, regardless of pedigree, right?
That is, more or less up and down and very little sideways, if any and that's that and almost immediately settle down.
