Have Suspended Designs Fallen Out Of Favor?

First of all I think most folks would agree that turntable design is a balance of strengths and limitations. That there are very few perfect turntables in the world.

It seems suspended designs are less prevelant than they have been in the past. I wonder if its because of the additional cost of parts and labor to assemble? Or that it acknowledges that many owners could not set up a suspended table well? Or that other isolation designs are as effective?

Yes I do understand the primary limitation of a sprung table is how to get vertical bounce consistently. And that any horizontal movement can result is speed variation.

But is there other good reasons why a suspended table is no longer a viable design at certain price points?
