Try a London Decca. I have the Super Gold, which I think defies classification It is about $1550, but the Maroon at $950 is really good too. You don't need a step-up transformer, as the output is 5.0mv. It is somewhat picky on warped records because there isn't much clearance under the cartridge body. If I were to upgrade today it would be to a higher level London Decca.
