Many years ago I read about popular Japanese saki-jazz bars. They were small, intimate bars with quality hi-fi systems, playing classic vinyl jazz. With Tannoy, Altec, or JBL speakers and SET electronics, music was played on rim-drive Garrard or Thorens tables. I wondered at the time if such a thing could be successful in the US, but not likely with such small accommodations.

Now recently someone posted on new similar efforts in the Bay Area. So it took awhile. We'll see if they can make it.
