Vinyl Asylum Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ. |

I've noticed a # of times now that my Lydian Beta seems to get discombobulated when confronted with certain bass notes or low frequencies. Specifically - for those familiar - on Ben Folds Five's Reinhold LP, on the "Magic" track there are a couple of low notes that result in the cart sounding as if it's being thrown out of the groove. Awful scraping, scratching, distorting sound. Is this caused by improper adjustment of some kind or poorly set VTF? The cart, according to my trusty(?) Shure is set at 1.8, a bit beyond the recommendation on the Lydia's set-up sheet but consistent with J. Carr's suggestion. Appreciate any light that can be shed on this situation. (Rest of set-up is VPI 19MKIII & SME 309).

- Track ability improves with break-in? The cart only has about 12 hours on it. (NT) - BLZBUB 10:00:58 02/3/02 (1)
