Go for it. If you can load it at 100 ohms, or with a 12 ohm tranformer it is exceptional.
Comparing the cost to the standard 103 is short sighted. Is the 103R twice as good as the 103? Maybe, maybe not. But it is easily better.
Paying an extra 125.00 for one over the 103 is peanuts. There are members who would never spend 250.00 for a cartridge. It is too much for some, and way too little for others.
I doubt if a proper set up 103R would be the weaklink in anyones vinyl rig.George
