Re: Vintage CD players...

I feel the term "vintage" can designate different things. Yes, R2R's and 8-trax are vintage, but we are now living in an era when straight-off-the-shelf, brand new items can be obsolete in a month! I think things become "vintage" today in sort of a "dog year" kinda way. A 10 year old CD player as of 2004 would be 30 years old if you think in 1970's technology terms.

Does this make sense to anyone?!

Anyways, my $125 Pioneer DV-353 DVD/CD/MP3 player completely outclasses (sound-wise) any of my dad's $1000+ dollar CD players he purchased in the 80's. Sure, they are built like black-boxes, but put in a new, "remastered" CD, and they just dont cut it!
