Everyone make fun of me!! PLEASE!! :o)

OK, here is a little story sure to make some of you giggle:

I have been an LP collector for quite some time. Nothing fancy as far as my system goes. My workhorse turntable is a pristine Technics SL-D3 (a beaut! Wonderful machine). So anyways, I have been listening to records on it for years. In order to get the pitch just perfect, I would play a CD of whatever LP I had on the platter, and synch the two so the LP played at the exact speed of the CD. As you can imagine, it could be a real bitch!

Last week I put on Lou Reed's Transformer and got the pitch absolutely perfect. Today I was doing some repairs on a Technics SL-1990 that I have posted a couple questions about on the board. My dad stops by and is impressed by my turntable find and asks if the stroboscope is working. "What does a stroboscope do exactly?" I asked. Once he told me I felt like an IDIOT!!

Well, you really DO learn something new every day!!
