Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Stacked LA's require a lot more power to do their "special" thing...

Also, can't imagine that you are getting even 50% of the sound quality your SET amp is probably capable of in such a setup (I use 97 dB @ 1 watt/meter/16 ohm speakers with 2A3 mono blocks and consider them to be borderline).

DH/SET amp speaker rec's are not based upon volume level, but of sound quality. There are a few exceptions to these guidelines, but LA's are not one of them.

The minimum power I ever enjoyed with stacked/matched LA's was 30 tube watts/channel (Mac 30's/single Stereo 70) in a medium sized room. However, Stereo 70 mono blocks (figure approx. 60 watts/channel) and/or a Phase linear 400 souded a hell of a lot better @ all volume levels. The additional power/current is what gave the stacked LA's their legendary sound quality.

Never tried stacking unlike Advents.
