Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

yeah, I'm a fan (of Altecs, that is)

never much cared for the Advents, personally. Kind of blah , although they benefit greatly from decent quality, modern XO capacitors.

Not that anyone asked, or cares ;) but: of the New England sealed box "monkey coffins", I prefer Kloss's earlier efforts (KLH-era), and those of Allison & Burhoe (and Villchur/AR).

Allison Ones are nice, as were the original Cizek loudspeaker, the latter using the Peerless silk dome tweeter used (e.g.) by Matt Polk in his "Monitor Series" loudspeakers, and many others. The Peerless (KO10DT) was in production for decades, and was, and still is, a very nice tweeter.

all the best,
mrh
