Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

So I pondered this morning why...

I have an aversion to 70"s & 80's SS Receivers. And then it came back to me. Around 15+ years ago I visited two local electronic repair shops to see if they had any old tube gear. And there on their floor were a pile of such Receivers (25-30 pcs. each, a variety of makes and models). One shop had them stacked on top of one another and the other standing on their sides to save floor space. My recollection was the owners abandoned the units due to the repair bill or projected cost to repair. So at that time I just formed a view to avoid such because they seemed to break down and when they were too expensive to fix. I did reach out to someone I know who is into SS Receivers, and he just responded that he currently does not have any Onkyo's in his shop. If I run across such, I'll send you an email.
