RE: KLH 17 redux

I had 17s with a 20 watt Sherwood solid state receiver and the sound was excellent. The transient response, as measured by the hammer blow that begins the Kachti's Fire Dance section of The Firebird, was superior to just about anything. I sold this system and 'upgraded' to Large Advents and SAE separates. It was amusing how much better the 17s were on transients compared to the Advents. It was as if the orchestra were no longer coming in together. The Sixes and 17s were both excellent speakers and very enjoyable even with good mid-priced electronics.
It's never too late to turn back the clock.
