RE: I have a 12AX7 from 1966

That is exactly why I would rather buy tube "pulls" over NOS any day. A 50 year old tube that still tests near new has every chance of outlasting a NOS tube that has never been put into "real world use" and the cost is substantially less with the "pulls". I have a huge stash of 50's-60's organ branded 12ax7 and 12au7 that were pretty much given to me. Should be a lifetime supply!
On a side note I have a 5u4g rectifier that is from the 40's(!) that I use in an amp. I have had it tested twice over 12 years and it is still nearly new testing. It is an RCA that is branded Trutone.
