Pretty familiar with the ML-1 (and the LNP2) having repaired a few and built up two from bare mother boards and cabinets gotten from an ex ML engineer. The modules contained way more than 10 parts and actually had a plug-in pattern consistent with other discrete op-amp modules used in pro mixing boards.
There were two op-mp modules per channel, a post-regulator board (on the right side as I remember) and space for a (rare) moving coil pre-preamp/step-up module on the left side. The RIAA feedback circuitry was also on smaller plug-in boards near the front end preamp module. I'm in exile on a bayou south of Savannah far from my NY home schematics but remember that the gain without the step-up module was in the 40s of DB with the step-up adding another 20 or so. There were two DIP switches on the feedback boards, one set cartridge loading (47K and something else) and the other gain (30/40 something).
Having also a LNP motherboard with no modules, I built up plug-in modules using really good op-amps and along with a friend got both units going again. They sound quite good - I'd suggest listening to yours and see what you think!!
