These are reputed to have a pretty good phono preamp built into 'em as well as the click & pop thingy.There's actually one here (kind gift of one of the local vacuum tube hifi gurus)... but I've never actually tried it (neither as a preamp nor as a noise reduction gizmo).
FWIW, my guess is that clicks & pops, if one really wants to mitigate 'em, are best addressed by DSP. :-|
