RE: Cleaning Scott faceplates, any ideas?

Hi, as former owner of Scott 222D as well as current service tech for Nagra recorders (almost exclusively brushed aluminum faceplates and casework), I have found that Simple Green works miracles cleaning grunge out of the brush lines AND so far is safe on all silk screening I have encountered. Nothing I have tried is better after 20+ years of this work.
