RE: Marantz 8b

I have an 8b without the socket on the back. My understanding is that Saul Marantz was unhappy with the quality of the output transformers on the 8, so he started winding his own and used them on the 8b. I thought the socket was only on the 8, but I guess I am wrong. I bought my 8b from Allied Electronics in 1964 for $200.
