RE: Vinyl and AR-3's. Anything better?

They were completely restored before I bought them. Thee's a thread on AK that I've linked. No modifications that I'm aware from. They have oil caps in them which is different from what they had when first issued in '64(I'm talking about my speakers specifically).

You're not the first one who doesn't care for the sound of 3's. Too dark for some. If you're a fan of horns these are probably not going to get it done for you. I'm simply a fan of the sealed, "New England" speakers. Have a couple of pairs of KLH Model Six's, too.

What model Citation was that(I'm assuming tube?). The Citation II is an all time classic and matched up with these speakers is supposed to deliver quite a sound. One day when I win the lottery I actually might get to own one. But I have excellent results using everything from a 25 watt Fisher 400 to a 350 watt Crown XLS1000. It helps that my room is small and I don't listen at ear splitting levels so that I can drive them with something like the 400 when I feel the need.

Hope you enjoy the thread.
