Just bought a pair of lovingly restored AR 3's. Should have them in a few days. The amps that I'm going to try them with include a restored Fisher 500B(love it on my KLH 5's where they are more than suitable power wise) and a Yamaha M-4(170 watts at 4ohms). I'm hoping that considering I'll be using them in a relatively small space and normally at very moderate levels, the 500B will work with them. But I'm prepared to use the Yammie.
All that said, I'd be very interested in what AR 3 owners here are, or have used, for amps. I'm wondering if this might be the time to look at some McIntosh gear. There's a 2100 on sale not far from where I live that is cosmetically a little challenged, but priced at $650 that I'm considering.
