RE: What were your big leaps in audio

I am probably like many of you, with a love of music and growing up with Dyna, AR, ADC, etc. I upgraded as I got older and learned more and earned more.
But, I would say my big leap was when I bought a pair of ragged Acoustat 2+2's and the Acoustat TNT amp and brought it home to try out. The amp was in good shape; the speakers looked horrific with half the grille cloth chewed clawed apart by a cat.
I hooked it all up one Saturday afternoon and started playing some favorite CD's. Man, let me tell you, I was floored, just flabbergasted at the sound. So, clear, so clean, so beautiful. I played CD's well into the night. I was awestruck and my kids were too. It was a magical time I will not forget.
I get goose bumps just thinking about it still.
