Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Question about an audio store auction..

I saw an auction for a somewhat near to me higher end audio store that has been seized by a bank. According to the ad, they are auctioning off all of the gear still in the store. Some of the brands include McIntosh, Magnepan, and some other higher to mid audio brands.
The bank is selling off all of the store fixtures as well.
It would take me some time to go to the preview and auction the following day. I am trying to decide if it is worth my time or will it be swarming with audiophiles like me and others looking for a deal.
I know that is impossible to predict; I am more interested in any similar experiences others may have with auctions like this, as I have none.
The location is in a small-medium sized city. (maybe 200,000 or so)

Any opinions welcome and thanks.
