HK Citation II Rebuild ala Jim McShane

Attached are photos of the finished amp. It worked perfectly on first try. The things making that possible were Jim's clear and complete directions and the original assembly manual.

All the capacitors, resistors, tube sockets, balance pots, input and output terminals, rectifiers and wires were replaced. The power supply is Jim's Level II Plus and the output tubes are Gold Lion re-issue KT-88s.

It is a very clear sounding amplifier and takes a firm hold on the speakers. I've tried it with Radio Shack Minimus 7s, Audio Note ANJ/SPEs and AR-5s and they all sounded very good. It was even nice sounding with the Audio Note speakers which is surprising as they like a low damping factor. However, not good enough to kick out my Audio Note OTO SE or Kit 2.

I'm rebuilding my AR-5 speakers to go with the Cit II. The woofers have been re-foamed and I'm changing the capacitors and rheostats.
