HK Receiver Treble Issue

I have an older Harman Kardon 330 receiver. I just noticed last night the treble control does not increase or decrease the treble whatsoever.In fact, I noticed a bass prominent sound with a diminished high end. At first, I thought there might be a tone defeat switch but there is not and the bass control works fine.
Any ideas what the problem could be for an elecronics neophyte?
