Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

RE: Mac 240 sound and is this the amp you love?

I have to agree with Viridian. I actually can't stomach the 240 at all. I have had in house along with the 225,275 and MC 30. Ditched all but the 225.

All were restored with new couplers, bias and power supply electrolytics, new diodes and checked resisitors for value.

Check the links out below for entertainment. I don't know where Joe is now but he certainly was entertaining. I can vouch for his knowledge and passion as we attended a few listening sessions together. It took me time , even after decades in this hobby, to come up with my own conclusions that matched Joe's.

Cut and paste this one and link to the other... fun!

I particularily share his opinion of Marantz , Futterman and Quad gear.
