Depending on budget, the best priced/performance may be Illionois Cap's MWR from Vacuumtube.com. Obviously Orange Drop 716P is also very good and cost effective. DIYCable.com has some nice ICW caps that aren't too expensive.I like Auricaps if you have more money. I've done AudioCaps in a Xover but didn't like them in an amp I tried them in. I haven't heard Kimbers. Some of favorites are the green Russian PIO's you can on Ebay. Very nice sound on those. Searching out some nice PIO are usually worth the trouble. I think it emparts a very full musical tone to music. Less edginess.
Best advice I have is to use a few different types so that the sound is not indicative of any particular cap, but a combination of sounds. I like PIO mixed with poly caps if the poly caps are good enough.
As far as resistors I couldn't say. Haven't played with those as much....yet:)
