Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Reminds me of Wharfedale E-Series.

This is pretty common on the Wharfedale E-Series speakers I have seen. The older style woofer (square magnet) would have the spider come unglued from the basket over time, and occasionally the rubber surround would come unglued. And these were $1,000 speakers in 1978! I use Napa emblem adhesive to repair it. Lots of people assume their Wharfedale E-Series woofers are blown because of this.

On the Wharfedales I think it is caused by the aluminum oxidizing under the adhesive (they use cast aluminum baskets) and rendering the adhesive useless.
