I have Always liked the 2a, still have a pair and first used mine with a KR-710. I liked the sound but thought the 710 was way underpowered for the 2a's. They didn't sound as good at low levels but sounded better the more you cranked it up. I first used them on top of a low bookshelf vertically with the woofers on top and tweeters at ear level. Then I moved them to a different room and put them on the floor on low stands. I could get realistic 3d imaging from them despite their driver placement. I found they sound better with the pots bypassed, the old technology tweeters need all the help they can get. When I compared them to aDs 500's the difference was startling. The attack of brasses (like trumpets) of the aDs, made me jump...
